Dr. Ashwaq Moharram is a Yemeni gynecologist and humanitarian who has become a lifeline for thousands in Hodeida, one of Yemen’s hardest-hit regions. As conflict, blockade, and economic collapse have devastated the country’s health infrastructure, Dr. Moharram remains one of the few doctors still serving on the ground. Since 1999, she has run a mobile clinic from her own car, providing essential medical care, food, and supplies to remote communities, risking her life to reach those in desperate need. In the face of war and starvation, she treats malnourished children, manages non-specialist cases, and delivers milk and food baskets each week to hundreds of families.
Refusing to leave Yemen even when her family relocated for safety and health care, Dr. Moharram has continued her work under dangerous and exhausting conditions, driven by a deep sense of duty and compassion.
