Better World Organization for Community Development (BWOCD) was born from the belief that even in the darkest times, communities can rise together. Founded in 2017 by a group of determined women in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, we stand with women, girls, and youth to transform pain into power and vulnerability into leadership.

Through our work in protection, healing, empowerment, peacebuilding, climate action, and humanitarian aid, we have reached more than 80,000 lives — each story a reminder that change is possible.

At BWOCD, we believe in a future where every woman and young person is safe, empowered, and free to lead. Together, we are building bridges of hope, resilience, and peace in Iraq.
