The Bethlehem parish in Leipzig is part of the Evangelical Lutheran parish in the south of Leipzig. For 99 years, church services have been held in the parish hall of our parish house. What was originally planned as a temporary solution has become a permanent one, not least because of the Second World War and its aftermath. The church originally planned was never built. The aim of the parish is to spread Jesus' message of love for enemies in the southern suburbs of Leipzig and thus act as a peacemaker. This aim is put into practice in particular at the Südcafé, a meeting place for people with or without a migrant background. Here, people from different cultures and religions come together as equals, something that is particularly sought after and appreciated by people who have fled the war.
