PEACE DAY 2026 at Yoyogi Park
Tokyo | 21.09.2026
September 21 is the United Nations International Day of Peace. To mark this occasion, "PEACE DAY 2026 at Yoyogi Park" will be held as a free outdoor festival that brings together people from different generations, backgrounds, and sectors. Through music, talks, interactive programs, and exhibitions, the event invites everyone to reflect on peace and take meaningful action.
The stage program will feature May J. alongside a diverse range of artists and guests who share a commitment to global harmony. Sixteen organizations working on issues such as nuclear disarmament, refugee assistance, conflict resolution, environmental protection, and climate change will host booths at the venue. During the day, visitors can create candles and write their personal messages for peace on them. After sunset, all the candles will be lit together in a special Candle Night program directed by CANDLE JUNE, transforming individual wishes into a shared movement. In solidarity with the global Live Peace initiative, this event perfectly embodies the spirit of worldwide unity.
(Note: PEACE DAY WEEK 2026 will also take place from September 17 to 23, with NGOs, NPOs, civic groups, individuals, businesses, and public institutions organizing a wide variety of actions dedicated to peace across Japan).
